Our Story
The Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church, a welcoming and affirming congregation located in Mercer County, NJ, invites you to explore our history, vision, and missions. It is our intent to share our passion for Christ-like living and community service in the hopes you will consider taking this journey with us as disciples of Christ. At the Lawrence Road Church, it's our mission to be an inclusive community responding to God's grace through praise and service.
Some details about our history and our current situation:
- Our church is over 150 years old and is an established and vital congregation in our community providing many services to the community, including:
- A vibrant state-certified preschool for 2 1/2, 3- and 4-year-olds:
- An English School providing instruction, conversation, tutoring, social events, and citizenship classes.
- We host the longest sponsored Boy Scout Troop in the State of New Jersey, founded in 1919 by Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church.
- Missions include: hosting NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness), AA groups, the collection of food and personal items to several area food pantries and missions; and Christmas caroling and meal preparation for homebound members
- Music Ministry including Ladies and Men's choir, Prayer Shawl Ministry, and LRP Youth Group.
- Christian Education includes: vacation bible school, adult bible and book study, confirmation classes, and Sunday School for youth.
